A Duty Manager at Aqualink Box Hill, with a focus on Plant and Maintenance of the centre.Responsibilities:- Liaising with facility users via direct service requirements- Daily delegated authority of the Centre Manager- Identifying maintenance issues, to either be logged with the Facilities Maintenance team, or to be arranged by myself on-site - Contractor management- Asset management- On-Call duties- Pool plant and water quality maintenance- Chemical management, stocktake and ordering- Staff performance, management and rostering- Invoicing, budgeting and cash handling- Business planning- OH&S responsibilities- Minor project work

During my time at Noble Park, I was head of the Operations department. Responsible for the daily operation of the centre and for a large staff team of over eighty, made up of Lifeguards and Duty Managers.Responsibilities:- Rostering, recruitment and staff management - Budgeting and forecasting- Monthly reporting- Purchase ordering and invoicing- Cleaning contract management/review- Utilities and asset management- Contractor management- OH&S and emergency management requirements- Monthly Operations meetings with Council members and staff - Regular direct service to liaise with users of the facility- Maintenance reporting, recording and management- Centre wide stocktake, ordering and reporting- Regular meetings/working groups with other Operations staff from the surrounding Aquatic and Recreation sites in Greater Dandenong Council - Oversight for the re-opening of both pools following major re-tiling works

Brunswick Baths was the centre that really kick started my journey through the Aquatics and Recreation industry. Beginning as a Customer Service Officer, through the ranks of Duty Management and later being given the opportunity to become the Operations Team Leader and then Acting Operations Coordinator.Responsibilities: - Cash handling- Membership and Swimming Lesson tours, sign ups, amendments and cancellations- Opening and Closing procedures- Answering phone calls- Responding to user feedback and complaints - Delegated authority of the Centre Manager- Hazard identification, elimination and isolation - Staff recruitment, management and rostering - Contractor management- OH&S management- Emergency management training- Monthly maintenance reporting- Incident and first aid reporting- Maintenance budgeting- Preventative maintenance scheduling- Weekly leadership team meetings

This is where it all started. Aquarena was the place I got my first job as a Swim Teacher, following on from many years of competitive swimming. This was a natural progression for me that quickly lead to gaining a Lifeguard position, thus starting my path of working in Aquatics and Recreation.
