I was hired to help curate and produce this 3000+ attendee outdoor event in Hoboken on October 5, 2023. The content planning for the event was behind schedule and I came on and quickly developed a theme (impact of AI) for the content and secured 30+ speakers for a full day’s program. Additionally I oversaw all production for the event, which included securing permits from city, getting bids and securing vendors for tents, AV, furniture, F&B, bathrooms, fencing, security and more

I provided guidance on site development and infrastructure development (IT, AV) during the construction phase of the project and developed the early conceptual plans for intellectual/business event programming & content as well as overseeing event production.

With a role driven around the development of the Social Media Week platform and conference, my focuses have included: Partnerships & Client Management: --Leading the partnerships team (5 people) to oversee all sponsor and partner relations. --Growing relationship with global headline sponsor Nokia (and then Microsoft) from 2011 to 2015. Oversaw their sponsorship deployment globally and across 15+ SMW markets including developing programming, campaigns, contests and branding products. --Working with secondary SMW clients (Amex, Ford, LinkedIn, Google, & many others) to determine and execute on sponsorship activity (events, campaigns and contests) in NYC and other SMW markets around the globeBusiness Development & Sales: --Working independently and with CEO & Director of Sales to identify and make contact with potential sponsors, develop and nurture relationships with them, and draft proposals for sponsorship of SMW globally and in NYC Strategy: --Working with CEO to determine and/or guide company strategy and direction, including revenue focuses, market expansion and product development

In the early days of the agency in the first year and a half of our company, we were a small start-up with 4-5 employees, which meant everyone did a little bit of everything. I advised on strategy and managed the annual (sometimes twice-annual) International Council “c-suite” media conference in Montreal (2005), Istanbul (2006), Silicon Valley (2007), London and Delhi/Bangalore, India (2008), Berlin and New York (2009), and Monaco (2010) My role included:--Programming: develop event programming, including determining panelists/speakers and panel topics --Research: follow trades and current events daily to keep abreast of hot topics and key industry leaders; for use in creating programming as well as augmenting potential membership list --Publications: write/create content for and coordinate the printing of pre- and post-event materials, including program binder, slimline agenda, and on-site signage; create content for and coordinate production of post-meeting publications --Business development & sponsorship: work independently and with Executive Director to identify and make contact with potential sponsors, develop and nurture relationships with them, and draft agreements for sponsorship of programs for both International and US Media Councils; --Event management: manage invitation process; liaise with hosts/sponsors to plan logistics of events before, during, and after meeting; work with hotels and venues to contract rooms; contract caterers and develop menus and room configurations; work on-site to oversee events --Web editor/IT: Write content for and maintain International Council and Media Council websites (www.paleymediacouncil.org), including promotion of upcoming events, highlights of past events, and featured online-versions of publications and video clips
