A native to New Zealand, Ben moved to Sydney at the age of 13 where he attended the Scots College and quickly impressed all with his rugby ability. While playing for Scots, Ben was selected to play 1st XV Rugby in years 10 through 12, making GPS selections in two of three years. During these years he also played junior club rugby for East Rugby Club with the team winning several junior competitions. At age 16 he moved to Sydney University Club and played Colts rugby and was part of the team that took out two Colt's Premierships. At the end of 2008, he signed with the Manly Marlins Club in Sydney, and was playing First Grade at Number 10 with a few games also at fullback.Ben secured a junior Waratah contract for the 2010 season and a Junior Professional contract for the 2011 training with the full squad and played in trial games for the Waratahs.2012 saw Ben move to Perth on a Super 15 Professional Contract with the Western Force where he gained 13 Super Caps. December 2012 Ben took up an offer to play in the French TOP14 for AGEN gaining 15 caps. Ben has currently taken up an opportunity to play in the ITM cup in New Zealand, playing for Northland. Career Objectives:Success to date in my rugby career has been the result of my commitment and dedication to the task at hand. There is nothing more satisfying to me than the achievement of realistic personal goals. While I am excited about the prospects of further development of my rugby career, I am also focused on my personal development including further education. I am currently studying for a Bachelor of Sports Business. Successful achievement of this Bachelors Degree would provide me with the skills to commence a career as a Event Manager. My interest lies in the commercial aspects of hosting, managing and executing well planned major sporting events on a national and international level.
