Formerly know as both Malt-O-Meal and MOM Brands, Post Consumer Brands manufactures both cold and hot cereals. Strategic Sourcing provided no oversight of the Indirect/MRO category when I joined the company. By identifying my internal customers and gaining their buy-in, I created the Indirect Sourcing function. I combined the fractured spend of four production facilities and developed strategic supply agreements which yielded tremendous savings. I helped streamline the procure-to-pay process while working with Finance on P-card and invoice processing systems. I created and managed the Sourcing Dept Intern program. While at Post Consumer Brands I enjoyed working with and leading teams consisting of folks from almost every function within the company. • Negotiated automation controls agreement with enhanced support and cost reduction of 35%.• Reduced Safety/PPE costs by 32% through RFP and item standardization.• Rebuilt the supplier and ingredient qualification process, reducing qualification time by 40%.

A subsidiary of Henkel, the Bergquist Company manufactures thermal management materials for the electronics industry. Bloated raw material inventories and shortages were both a problem when I first joined the company. I developed long-term agreements with our key suppliers that eliminated shortages while reducing inventory and pricing. I joined the New Product Team, streamlined the onboarding process of new suppliers and materials, and led a physical audit of potential suppliers in China. (Being able to speak Chinese came in handy.) I honed my management skills as I trained and mentored a new buyer and receiver as well as supervised the Materials Department while our Manager took a leave of absence.• Reduced new product time-to-market by 6 weeks through training product development team.• Conducted an on-site audit of 5 potential suppliers in Shenzhen, China.• Implemented Supplier Management Program.

Celestica is a contract manufacturer in the electronics industry. Not content to simply monitor MRP and order materials, I expanded our Just-In-Time program and reduced component inventory by over $2 million. My Six Sigma Green Belt projects resulted in annual scrap reductions of over $1 million.• Managed annual spend of $200M. • Decreased component inventory by over $2M through expansion of Just-In-Time program.• Implemented rework program with supplier to reclaim $1.5M of scrap annually.
