Originally from Cape Town, I spent my early career in consulting with PwC and IBM, working on procurement, supply chain and SAP projects. This gave me exposure to a number of industries and companies as well as deep process and system expertise.I was fortunate enough to be engaged on a global SAP project in Denmark. Working in Europe for two years was a fantastic experience and I travelled extensively. While in Copenhagen, I met my wife and relocated to Melbourne in 2006.With IBM, I spent a number of years working on projects at Telstra, including their operational support systems and then outsourcing their supply chain and procurement functions.Looking for new challenges, I joined Ernst & Young's Supply Chain Advisory team and worked on a number of procurement, supply chain and advisory projects. In 2012, with a young family, I relocated to Brisbane where I later joined Arrow Energy to enhance my operational expertise.In late 2016, I was very pleased to rejoin EY as a Director in the IT Advisory service line. I worked across a number of roles, supporting a large technology and sourcing and contract negotiation, followed by leading the scoping and design of a large S/4HANA implementation across 6 work streams.In January 2019, I joined BHP in the enterprise global category management team to support operational technology and cyber contracts. I have spent the last 2 years running BHP's software asset management team and technology partner performance team.As of August 2023, I have taken the step of launching Silverston Consulting where I will be using my 20+ years of experience to help clients requiring support in my areas of expertise.
