Project: Web Telemetry AnalysisKey Words: Microsoft COSMOS; Azure Data Factory; Kusto(aka Azure Data Explorer)About Project:MS internal use a JavaScript library that gathers telemetry from web pages. This library is often referred to as JSLL (JavaScript Logging Library). We are extracting telemetry from the JSLL source for some target domains like docs.microsoft.com; azure.microsoft.com etc. then we aggregate the telemetry data into different granularities like PAGEVIEW/SESSION and provide calculated columns accordingly. With those data in the NOSQL database, the Kusto, the UP stream can build dashboard to help the web page owner understand the health status and monitor how user engage with their web page and then make data-driven decision to improve their content. The data sciences team can involve the telemetry data into their model to analyze how telemetry data impact the user in terms of payment/azure adoption.Responsibility:• Work with PM to communicate with UP/DOWN stream• Design the whole Data Pipeline in robust and extensible way• Check the performance/data quality• Provide sample/ad-hoc query• Document the DB schema and the formula of the calculated fields

Project: Solution AcceleratorKey Works: Testing;TFS;PowerBI;ETLAbout Project: Solution Accelerator is to build a generic BI tool for testing. This tool allows users reading data from different test tracking sources like MS TFS by using MS SSIS, and then displaying check points in an easy to read dashboard like PowerBI.Responsibility:• Drive DB schema design• Design ETL flow• Work on parsing JSON data from TFS response• Communicate with US team for question/issues clarification

Project:Consumer Data WarehouseKey Words: Data warehouse; SSIS; Cube;SSRSAbout Project: Detego CDW is a BI project to report Microsoft Consumer Support business info. It's supports all of the major consumer LOBs in Microsoft, including Windows, Office, Xbox, Windows Azure etc. It reports the finance, customer experience and customer support info in both operational perspective and analyzing perspective. It contains data from 50+ sources, with 1 TB level DW, multiple GB level Data Marts and Cubes, 80+ different scorecards for each of the LOBs.Responsibility:• Design the ETL, Cubes, Reports and Scorecards.• Work with manager to set up the team from scratch.• Own the analyzing of problems including performance tuning and live site troubleshooting.• Own the communication between the Shanghai team and other team members in US.
