Full time employment with Abzorb Systems Ltd. an award-winning telecommunication service provider, heading up Technology, Product Development and Information Security. Since joining Abzorb in 2006, I have overseen the development of a suite of technological tools, reports and business processes that have helped the business grow to a turnover of over £25m (in 2019). I have driven development of a robust and accessible CRM/ERP platform that integrates directly with 3 mobile networks and a number of fixed service suppliers. The platform we have developed now offers API integration to our partners and suppliers allowing those partners to automate some of their own business processes and to benefit from that integration with our suppliers. I am responsible for a team of BI specialists, software specialists and engineers, managing our internal and external IT support functions as well as the product development team. My management skills have flourished through my time with Abzorb. I also own Abzorb’s information security management system, working with the business to identify and manage risks using the framework set out within the ISO 27001 international standard in information security management.As a member of the senior management team, I report regularly to the board on all areas of IT, information security and product development. I maintain a very hands-on role, balancing my management responsibilities with advanced development requirements and escalations within the business.My goal at Abzorb is to provide a technological springboard for our various sales channels to grow business revenue whilst helping the operational teams make the most of their resource day to day. This goal extends to our indirect partners, the tools that help Abzorb grow will help our channel partners grow also.

Committed volunteer staff member of the Lorien Trust, a Live Roleplaying Organisation that runs 4 fest-sized LRP/LARP events per year out of Locko Park near Derby.Whilst primarily seen as a hobby, volunteering for the Lorien Trust makes use of my skills in Team Leadership and Group Working, Customer Service, Project Management, Event Management, People Management and Communications.As a part of my time volunteering for the Lorien Trust I have also taken part in the organisation and running of several smaller LRP/LARP events, sanctioned by the Lorien Trust.For more on the Lorien Trust see their website: http://www.lorientrust.com/

Full time employment with Datalinx Ltd. a direct marketing bureau. Initially employed as an Analyst Programmer I rapidly moved up the ladder, quickly taking on the role of Senior Analyst Programmer before being elevated again to the position of Systems Development Manager and Associate Director. This was a hands-on role throughout; my responsibilities included overseeing the development of internal systems and bespoke client solutions; day-to-day management of the development team; project management and recruitment for both the development team and the internal Network Support team. I reported directly to the board on system development matters, providing data through my own management information reporting systems.I was responsible for the administration of seven SQL servers housing several hundred million records across three core terabyte databases. I created the ETL procedures used to populate the data warehouses replicated across these servers. I also provided advice and training to members of the production and development team with regards use of Visual FoxPro, SQL Server and best development practice.

Full time Employment with GoData Ltd. a software house creating management information systems for the structural steel industry, as Analyst Programmer. I was responsible for the development of bespoke software components for international clients. I played a key role in the redevelopment of the entire management information suite. I was also responsible for co-ordinating the installation of software at international client sites. At GoData Ltd. I was part of a 5 man development team.

Full time Employment at DBS Financial Management Plc. as an IT Helpdesk Analyst and then an Analyst Programmer. I developed and maintained various systems utilising Visual FoxPro and Microsoft SQL Server. I was responsible for project management throughout the full development lifecycle and assisted in recruitment of new staff. I also managed the transition of our helpdesk from the Huddersfield site to a site in Cheltenham, training the support team there and providing management cover until a permanent manager was recruited. The software developed in house included CRM systems and systems to cover Compliance and Accounting, as well as systems for use externally by IFAs.I was also responsible for administration of the back end SQL Server databases.
