At DTE Energy I have worked with a large variety of IT infrastructure. Currently I manage the DTE Energy Resources IT Operations group.

As a contractor at American Axle I provided Active Directory administration for 5000 users and support for 200+ Compaq Windows servers. I also had the opportunity to lead on an NT to Active Directory 2003 migration, an Exchange 5.5 to 2003 migration and a datacenter move to the new AAM headquarters.

I started working desktop support at Thyssen before the Copper and Brass IT organization and the Thyssen IT organization became one group. I worked on the Thyssen side supporting both the Processing Center and the RenCen. From a support stand point the two groups did not really come together until we migrated from NT4 to 2000. This was a great learning opportunity. When we would migrate a site they would receive new hardware and join a new domain. Migrating user data and replacing all of the hardware at a location forced me to learn how all of the pieces worked from the keyboard to the central data center. During my time at Thyssen I was involved in several important projects including a public to private IP conversion, group policy configuration, visual basic scripting, Exchange 5.5/2000 support and Citrix/thin device support.

I worked as a contractor on the Ford Credit Help Desk. We supported the Ford Credit branch offices and dealerships. Ford Credit was unique because they had adopted OS/2 for their client/server OS based on their strong IBM relationship. On the Ford Credit help desk I got a chance to work with the Remedy ticketing system, support network printers, support custom and off the shelf applications, and write technical documentation. It was really a great way to get started in IT.
