At the time i was starting my career as a teacher in Kenya, women seemed to be shying away from leadership and education managementShying is what it seemed to be, but at that time it was still hard for women in leadership and also at the working level since men dominated most national leadership positions in education management in Kenya. Women teachers were been left out when it came to holding key positions of leadership, advancement of their careers and being promoted.Women teachers and the girl child in Kenya need leaders who understand their welfare and the challenges they face in the education sector, personally, in their careers, in national and international levels.I came together with other various teachers and formed a welfare association, the Kenya women teachers association, in order to address issues affecting women in their career needs, as well as impart training on special education including use of interactive means so as to deliver effective teaching and learning opportunities.Since then my passion in national and international education management has led me to a diligent and adventurous career path especially in Early Childhood Development Education, en-gendering leadership, training, capacity building, recruitment and partnerships with other national and international education stakeholders such as Government education councils, TSC, BUPL, ILO, NEA, and Education international among others in pursuit of quality education.
