My research focuses on the evaluation of gait after surgical correction of the foot in people with disabling foot deformities resulting from neurological disorders. Specifically, I am evaluating the effect of a surgical intervention that aims to correct the foot position on personalized goal attainment and on gait and balance performance. Additionally, I am exploring quantitative measures for the assessment of gait and foot impairments in individuals with neurological disorders.

Project MARCH is a voluntary project of students from the TU Delft who are building an exoskeleton for people with a spinal cord injury to give them back mobility. As a Human Movement Engineer I was responsible for, among others, the generation of the gait patterns of the exoskeleton. Besides that, I worked on the development of the input device, with which the user was able to control the exoskeleton.

During my master's degree I did an internship for three months at Hocoma AG in Switzerland. I was part of the development department and worked on the walking patterns of the Lokomat gait training robot.

The StudyTour committe annually organizes a trip to foreign countries to visit companies and universities in the field of Biomedical/ Mechanical Engineering.

With this committee we annually organized trips to companies and research institutes where Human Movement Scientists are active.
