About Bente Sollid

Bente Sollid has over a decade of CEO experience and extensive board involvement across publicly listed companies and tech start-ups. Founder of Digital Hverdag, which became Cell Network, listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange in 1999 with a market cap of SEK 9 billion, now Bouvet ASA on the Oslo Stock Exchange.She made history as the youngest member of the Norwegian Editors' Association and was a finalist for the Woman Board Award in 2018. Ranked as Norway’s 10th most powerful woman by Økonomisk Rapport in 1999, she was honored with the Gulltaggen Honorary Award in 2023 for her contributions to the internet industry.Bente holds multiple board positions, including Chair of Placewise Group, Sonat Group, UtilityCloud, and Task Alliance, and serves on executive boards for Polaris Media, Europris, Motor Gruppen, Insenti, Lumi Group, Orgbrain, and Boards Impact Forum. From 2019-2024 she was lecturing at BI Norwegian Business School in the executive Master's program on Innovation, Digitization, and Business Models. She is also a regular lecturer at the Executive Board Program, organized by the Scandinavian Executive Institute in collaboration with INSEAD.Bente Sollid has held numerous advisory roles, including serving as a council member for Prime Minister Thorbjørn Jagland's election campaign in 1997. She has also been an advisor to several Ministers of Trade and Industry, including Lars Sponheim (Venstre) and Grete Knudsen (Ap), as well as Minister of Modernization Morten Andreas Meyer (Høyre) on the E-Norway initiative. From 2015 to 2017, she served as an advisor to the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Fisheries, with a focus on the Creative Industries. She was a member of a government-appointed expert committee to determine future funding for NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation).In addition, Bente has served on several advisory boards, including Aftenposten’s Tech Advisory Board, and has been a mentor for Digital Norway’s Board Program for women. She has also played a key role in mentoring CEOs in tech and growth companies since 2000.Bente led the development of TV2’s website, which was awarded Norway’s best website in 1998, and DinSide, which won Best Technology Website in Scandinavia the same year. Since 2000, she has mentored CEOs of tech and growth companies.
