The facility handles the replenishment of stock for 174 stores as well as the pick, pack and despatch for UK and International online orders.Responsible for the smooth running of the Operation, all Disciplinary and Grievance matters, Health and Safety, and ensuring all stock gets to stores on time in full.

Duties: Taken on at the start of the operational phase of a new start up project, providing a cross dock operation for Amazon. This was Palletforce’s first 3PL venture. I was responsible for sourcing all permanent Shift Managers and Administrators and organising temp to perm Warehouse Operatives, covering a 24/6 rota. As well as sourcing all equipment, organising and delivering initial training and inductions, development of SSOW, Working Instructions and Risk Assessments. Designing the floor layout of 81,000 square feet of warehouse space; including the removal of the previous customers stock, working closely with them to ensure they vacated on time.I attended daily conference calls with the customer, and regular progress meetings. The start up was a success and I achieved all deadlines set enabling an on time go live date. The account is now up and running and I control one of four shifts, responsible for all staff including Supervisor, Admin and Operatives, my main duties being, but not limited to:• Liaising daily with the customer and staffing agency.• Training and development for all staff.• Ensuring stringent Health & Safety is adhered to. • Addressing cases raised by the customer, Amazon, within SLA time frame.• Ensuring MHE is maintained and kept in good working order.• Carrying out investigations and disciplinaries as needed.• Maintaining accurate warehouse management systems.Achievements:• On time launch of project • Creation of all Working Instructions, SSOW & Risk Assessments.• Successful recruitment of all temp to perm staff with completed transition to perm.• Winner of outstanding contribution to H&S award 2019.• Winner of Health & Safety Champion Award at the Palletforce Delivering Better Awards 2020. • Development & introduction of weekly round up news letter summarising all the facts and figures from the previous week, used by all shifts as their brief for the week to ensure a consistent message across the shifts.

Duties: To effectively manage the UK Distribution Centre incorporating inbound, pick / pack and out bound processes. Responsible for all operational activities within the UK DC and Repair Workshop. Achievements:• Introduced perpetual inventory checks, this improved stock accuracy and decreased nil picks from an average of 7 a week to an average of less than 1 a week.• Introduced Risk Assessments, Health and Safety checks, fire alarm tests and stringent Health and Safety processes and procedures bringing the site in line with legal requirements and creating a safer working environment.• Designed and implemented induction programs for offices, workshop and warehouse.• Using a, purpose built, spread sheet identified log jams in the internal repair process and reduced the turnaround of a UK repair from an average of 7 days to 2 days, whilst also improving the reporting of updates for external repairs.• Developed a set of service level agreements for our 3PL provider and vendors improving delivery receipt and cutting down on delays in booking in stock.

To effectively manage the in bound and out bound processes of the DC to ensure the efficient distribution of merchandise to all of our stores across Europe, covering 14 countries and totalling over 1100 stores. To realise planned due dates on shelf, to provide support to the Head of Distribution and to manage new projects from initial planning stages through to completion. Overall responsibility for a team consisting of 80+ staff including supervisors, administrators and operatives with 2 direct reports.Responsible for hiring staff up to Supervisor level, Supervisors annual appraisals, staff training and review and implementation of old and new Risk Assessments. Also responsible for liaising with consumable’s suppliers, agencies and carriers, constantly reviewing the service they are supplying. Ensuring that all Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to and that all investigations and disciplinaries are carried out in a thorough and professional manner including chairing appeal hearings where necessary, as well as monitoring and reviewing all Supervisors KPI’s and SLA’s.
