Hello! My name is Ben Watts and I am a planner with a passion for environmental conservation and management. With both an undergraduate and master's degree in Environmental Science, as well as a master's in Public Administration, I have a solid academic foundation in the field. I have been working as a planner with the Town of Leland for the past two years, where I focus on both current and long-range planning efforts.In my role, I have had the opportunity to obtain CZO and CFM certifications, which have provided me with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively plan within the town. My job duties include daily permitting, evaluating development proposals, and collaborating with stakeholders to promote sustainable growth and development.I am passionate about creating resilient communities that balance economic growth with environmental protection. I believe that my unique combination of skills in environmental science and public administration, coupled with my planning experience, have prepared me to make a meaningful impact in the field.
