Ben West is the co-founder of the companies Eventbase and Intergalactic Agency. Eventbase creates mobile apps for the world’s premium events including the Vancouver/London/Sochi Olympics, Sundance Film Festival, South By Southwest, SAP, IBM, Amazon, HP, Google, Disney, Cisco, Microsoft, Comi-Con, CES, and more. Intergalactic is an award-winning digital agency specializing in mobile apps, interactive installations, websites, software dev, and visualizations. Intergalactic's clients include Minecraft, Sundance Film Festival, SXSW, Telus, BC Liquor Stores, Mental Health Canada, Lululemon, Shangri-La, British Fashion Council, Cisco, Microsoft, Banff Centre, and more.Ben has presented on a range of topics at events including SXSW, Cannes Lions, LLGA, Google, and more.From 1996-2002 Ben architected, built and operated the technical systems of StockHouse.com which was the largest website in Canada during the dot com era and one of the largest financial websites in the world. During this time he was designated a technical expert by the Ontario Courts and successfully assisted in the arrest and prosecution of hackers.Ben was selected as one of Business in Vancouver’s “40 Under 40” and has a BA Honours in Media Studies from Queen’s University where he also studied economics and computer science. In his spare time Ben volunteers with branding, marketing, and knowledge-worker training in small communities on Vancouver Island. He funds a granting program for small businesses to build digital tools as well as a scholarship program. For this work he was a finalist candidate for the Prime Minister's Canadian Volunteer Awards (CVA) in 2016.Ben also has a very fuzzy dog.
