I am flexible, enthusiastic and proactive with a design engineering background. I have a proven record with individual and group projects covering a variety of topics. I currently work in a small team designing spectrophotometers for Edinburgh Instruments.I graduated from Glasgow University with a 2:1 in Mechanical Design Engineering (MEng). Throughout my degree I studied a wide range of subjects from fluid mechanics and thermodynamics to programming (Matlab and c++) and simulation. However, my main focus was on product design and DFM.While studying I started up and ran a successful 3D printing and CAD business. Through this and my work for Edinburgh Instruments, I have gained valuable skills in mechanical assemblies, C++ programming, design for manufacture and customer communication. I have become proficient in Solidworks, Inventor and Fusion 360, including but not limited to sheet metal, assemblies, PDM and mechanical drawings.In my spare time I am an avid curler; for the past year I have been part of the British Curling World Class Program, aiming for the 2022 Beijing Olympics. Through curling I have gained significant teamwork experience while learning how to effectively manage my time.
