In over 20 years as a print and digital reporter, I’ve covered politics and social affairs, business and leadership, health and environmental issues, and science/technology for major publications in the United States and worldwide. My work has been published by the Guardian, Newsweek, Bloomberg, the BBC, CNN, Mother Jones, Fortune, Forbes, TechCrunch, The Hill, Slate, The Chicago Tribune, The Boston Globe, The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Baltimore Sun, and countless other news organizations. As an editorial consultant, I also use my skills to help institutional and nonprofit clients with thought leadership, editorial projects, and content-driven branding and advocacy campaigns. I’ve worked on major editorial projects for clients including Caltech, the Department of Defense, Stevens Institute of Technology, the University of Illinois, First Republic Bank, and Valo Ventures.

In recent years I've brought my journalism and communications background into the nonprofit sector, playing a key role in a major storytelling and advocacy project (first at New American Economy, then at the American Immigration Council) to foster bipartisan support for comprehensive immigration reform. Speaking to CEOs, U.S. Senators, blue-collar workers, farmers, DACA recipients, and countless others from all walks of life, I craft compelling op-eds, profiles, and reports that combine rigorous data-driven economic arguments with vivid human stories about immigration’s true impact in the United States. Along the way, as both op-ed writer and editor, I’ve helped lead a team that has placed hundreds of op-eds on immigration issues in major national and regional newspapers including the New York Times, the Washington Post, USA Today, and the Los Angeles Times.

I serve as editorial lead for a boutique communications firm focusing on serving startups and established companies in the health, tech, and B2B spaces. Managing a team of experienced writers, I work directly with clients in the United States, Asia, and Europe to craft and publish executive op-ed columns, white papers, case studies, and a wide range of other content. I believe every business leader has a compelling story to tell — and that thought leadership published in respected newspapers is a powerful tool for building brand awareness, reaching new audiences, and driving national conversations. Drawing on my experience as a journalist, I interview CEOs and other C-level executives to develop and write powerful, on-message thought leadership that reflects both the executive’s voice and perspectives, and the client’s strategic priorities. Working closely with client marketing and communications leads and Rosebud’s team of writers and media specialists, I devise and implement effective strategies to amplify the client’s message through both owned and earned media.

I covered U.S. and Latin American environmental issues for the Ecologist, with a focus on green politics.

I edited a portfolio of daily email newsletters targeting industry leaders in a range of fields, including SmartBrief's flagship Leadership, Politics and Sustainability newsletters. My work reached a daily audience of more than 330,000 subscribers in fields including public policy, marketing, social media and sustainable business.

I founded and wrote Plenty Magazine's Political Climate, a nonpartisan blog covering U.S. and global environmental policy and breaking news. I also contributed investigative reporting and news features.

Part of the 3-person editorial team responsible for the launch of Comment Is Free, the Guardian's groundbreaking online op-ed section. I recruited hundreds of big-name contributors, helping take the site from the drawing board to the Technorati Top 100 in a matter of weeks, and we were named the Association of Online Publishers' Editorial Team of the Year. Subsequently, as a founding member of the Guardian's U.S. online bureau, I commissioned and edited U.S. content for the newspaper's Web channels. I also contributed reporting, comment and analysis on topics including U.S. politics, Latin American politics, and social affairs.

As a reporter on Newsweek's science and social affairs desks, I contributed research and reporting for dozens of features, including several front-page packages. I also reported and wrote numerous bylined articles, including multiple cover stories for Newsweek's Enterprise section.
