With Temkin’s, our group addressed the changing climate and trends in the Brooklyn hospitality scene by pivoting to a new design aesthetic influenced by the VFW halls and nostalgic bars of previous generations. With Glorietta Baldy, consistently garnering 🤳 4+ star reviews on both Yelp and Google, myself and a new partner went beyond the well-known areas of Brooklyn I’d successfully operated in to create the first craft beer and 🍸 craft cocktail bar in the Bed-Stuy area. Part of Glorietta was my desire to come full circle with concept, returning to a smaller, more intimate, highly curated bar with a menu of extremely local beers sourced primarily from Brooklyn. It is a testing and proving ground where I use my 👨🏻‍🍳culinary training to curate its rotating list of original cocktails.I have been able to do the following with Glorietta:✓ Establish a new business relationship with a partner from another industry✓ Personally create and curate a custom cocktail menu, to date bringing more than 30 original cocktails to market✓ Execute improved profit margin and reduced pour costs using the Bevspot system✓ Stay connected to the boots on the ground zeitgeist of the Brooklyn bar scene by directly managing the staff

With The Owl Farm, our group wanted to deliver the utmost expression of the craft beer experience we’d developed at both Bar Great Harry and Mission Dolores by building a comfortable, inviting, lighthearted, somewhat whimsical bar that ☝️ lead the region in both quantity (by having a list of almost 30 draft beers as well as an extensive bottle selection) and quality (by venturing to buy even the most expensive, esoteric, and sought after beers from around the world). The Owl Farm was a personal benchmark for me in the following ways:♦Gave me the opportunity to create an investment package for two silent investors that has returned their original investment in less than 3 years, currently sits at over 🤑 2.45 X equity multiple, and by year 10 will have multiplied their initial investment over 7 times♦Cemented our team’s position as industry leader in the renowned Carroll Gardens/Park Slope area♦Developed my ability to collaborate with a manager who would go on to be a business partner at other projects

Mission Dolores opened to a raucous reception garnering over 💲1,000,000.00 in sales in its first 5 months and paying its construction loan back in less than 3 years. As the Coordinator for International Relations in 🍙 Fukui, Japan 🍵 (a position requiring a high-degree of fluency with less than 10% of all JET Program participants qualifying) I had the opportunity to be the lead liaison between the prefecture's English-speaking non-Japanese residents and the prefectural government, allowing me to use the speaking, reading, and writing Japanese communications skills I'd studied at the University of Illinois and Inter-University Center for Japanese Language Studies.
