• Worked with IT manager to combine two separate corporate AD forests into a single domain. This domain migration included testing and implementation of the Active Directory Migration Tool. Challenges included getting two organizations to look like they were one, so emails all looked like they came from one place while not interrupting the legacy networks and businesses on both sides.• Implement high availability webfarm to provide uninterrupted uptime for mission-critical applications. Designed Microsoft web farm project to balance network load across four servers to ensure uninterrupted uptime for Intranet applications and content. Configured shadow copy features for user-controlled rapid file recovery on the file server.• Provide daily hands-on support of HP and Compaq Servers running Windows 2000/2003 with: Enterprise Active Directory, Exchange Server 2003, custom automation scripts and programs. Configuration and support of SQL Server clusters (active/active and active/passive), SQL Server Enterprise, DFS, DNS, DHCP, WINS.• Primary support engineer for Enterprise backups and onsite/offsite data storage. Administer both Veritas Netbackup Enterprise Server 5.1 and Arcserve 11.5. Architected the backup policies, schedules, onsite and offsite retention policies, media requirements, master/media server design. The footprint includes both Windows UNIX and LINUX servers. Media includes direct backups to disc (iSCSI and HBA connections to SAN), and archive to ADIC Scalar 100 DLT, ADIC Scalar 100 LTO, and ADIC FastStor 2. Work closely with Iron Mountain for offsite media management and storage. Redesigned and implemented a full backup system to take advantage of new technologies for full system backups and immediate recovery.• Assisted IT manager with gathering requirements and metrics for Sarbanes Oxley audits.• Took initiative to document the data center including system architecture, maintenance, and operations logs and procedures for backups and media logs.
