Currently, Beny Gideon Mabor is the Commissioner at the South Sudan Human Rights Commission in the Republic of South Sudan. Professionally, he is trained lawyer from the University of Juba in South Sudan and the Institute of Legal Practice and Development in the Republic of Rwanda , where he obtained bachelor of laws degree in 2014 from the former and a post-graduate diploma in legal practice from the later in June 2017. He also did advance management course at the Kenya School of government. He has ten years working experience first with the Government of South Sudan in the Ministry of Justice and also worked for several NGOs as full time employee and short-time consultant including South Sudan Law Society, Justice Africa, and Management Systems International amongst others. Besides, Mr. Mabor is a contributory author and researcher for number of think-tank and institutions and has contributed in journal and academic writings both online and prints publication including the Sudan Tribune , Aljazeera, BBC, Guardian and other English dailies. As a civil society leader, he has represented South Sudan civil society in many regional and international levels and presented papers before African Commission and Human and Peoples’ Rights ACHPR; the United Nations Human Rights Council and Amnesty International respectively on numerous occasions. During the IGAD-led peace process for South Sudan in 2014-2015, Mr. Mabor was a civil society representative at the peace talk that brought Agreement on the resolution of conflict in South Sudan.
