The Self-sustainable Autonomous Lunar Aeroponic Device is a fully autonomous, self-contained crop grow system designed to operate on the ISS and Beyond LEO. The goal of this project is to test a plant growth system that will be a sustainable food source in outer space. This system shall integrate an embedded sensor network with edge computing capabilities to monitor and autonomously address the basic needs of plants within a lunar module without the need for crew tending. The light, water, temperature, humidity, nutrients, and carbon dioxide will all be supplied to the plant from a feedback control system.My role in this project is to design and build a modular sheet metal container that contains atomized water using SOLIDWORKS. The atomized water will be atomized for plant consumption. I design and simulate the infrastructure of the plant growth system and customize each part to have specific hole threadings that will match the right size screws. Through these designs, we export a dxf file and send it to Fabworks for manufacturing, receiving a higher-level machined part for assembling.

The Northrop Grumman Collaboration Project is a University Unmanned Aerial Aircraft Project in collaboration with Northrop Grumman. I am on the UAV aspect of the team working under the Aerodynamics subteam. As an Aerodynamics Engineer, I calculate the Lift and Drag build-up of the aircraft. Through these calculations, I insert them into a V-N diagram to help determine maximum cruise velocity with structural load constraints. A key design of the aircraft I contributed was the nose cone architecture. I determined the best geometry for the nose cone through surface area formulas from Raymer Aircraft Design.

Particle Imaging Velocimetry is a student-led wind tunnel testing project.In this project, I am working under the Structures subteam that mainly deals with structural load testing on pieces of the aircraft through simulation software. One example would be a FEMAP simulation I tested by applying structural loads on the backbone of a NACA airfoil.

NPWEE is a NASA-sponsored workforce development program designed to teach proposal writing and evaluation and enhance effective teaming practices and soft skills.
