Primary responder for 24/7/365 on-site support, repair, and installation of Technology infrastructure at all Southwest Airlines locations Systemwide. Under normal circumstances, being a Field Tech means fulfilling a regular work schedule while in the Field Support Office. While doing work in the field, a Field Tech may be required to work irregular and/or extended hours, responding immediately to the needs of Southwest Airlines. Perform in-house repairs (“bench work”) of Technology equipment.Package and ship tools, equipment, and supporting components to and from work locations using SWA Cargo, FedEx, or common carrier, both during normal business hours and on an after-hours or on-call basis as needed. Monitor and manage each Field Support Office’s inventory of Technology equipment, installation supplies, and consumables. Provide emergency onsite support (as soon as logistically possible) to repair critical business infrastructure - for example, network outages affecting an entire Station or field office, or outages that significantly affect the Customer Experience. Provide expedited onsite support (as soon as can be scheduled within normal business hours, taking into account existing workload and service commitments) to make repairs to non-critical systems that cannot be addressed either by working with local personnel over the phone, working with third-party vendors, via remote access, or by shipping replacement equipment to the Station. Comply with all Southwest Airlines Safety policies and local Safety guidelines Serve as Station Primary for one or more Stations or points-of-presence as assigned by the Team Leader. Obtain, maintain currency of, and have available while on the job certifications, access control devices, and professional qualifications necessary to support products and perform job duties.
