About Berend Bart Strijland

At NLÉ since 2012, we have designed and developed a wide range of acclaimed projects across four continents, such as the Serpentine Summer House in London, Black Rhino Academy in Karatu, Prelude to the Shed in New York, and the highly acclaimed Makoko Floating School in Lagos, Nigeria and later versions in Venice, Bruges, Chengdu and Mindelo. My recent works include a cultural installation in the Netherlands, educational and healthcare facilities in Zimbabwe, and a hotel, sports and commercial complex in Rwanda currently under construction. I have lectured and taught at institutions such as LUMA Arles, TU Delft, School of the Art Institute Chicago and Harvard Graduate School of Design amongst others.
