William Bereza’s diverse skills in the fields of software, photography, and law have been helpful to government agencies employing tens of thousands of workers, to software startups, and to small law firms.He also has decades of experience in farming in West Michigan, having grown up on his parent's 120-acre farm in Ravenna, Michigan. Since he was big enough to hold a pitch fork William helped with making hay for his parent's beef and dairy cattle, planted, picked, and sold sweet corn and other produce at farmer's markets and door-to-door throughout West Michigan. As a teenager, he bought his first computer with money he made raising and selling cattle along with his brother. The family farm is still in operation, run by his father who has lived on the farm for over 80 years. William and his siblings are the third generation of Berezas who have worked the farm.William received a Bachelor’s Degree with Honors in Computer Science from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI, and a Juris Doctorate Magna Cum Laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Grand Rapids, MI.In 2001, William co-founded Atomic Object with Carl Erickson, after working together during the DotCom boom. They originally started their work together with research projects at GVSU where Carl was a professor and William was an undergraduate. Atomic Object has averaged greater than 25% revenue growth per year since its inception and currently ranks as the second largest software development company in West Michigan according to the Grand Rapids Business Journal.At the National Security Agency, William designed and developed software for large data statistical analysis, wrote technical criteria for a multi-million dollar software contract, and studied Arabic. In 2001, Carl Erickson and William founded Atomic Object, a custom software product design and development firm in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
