- Peer educators are the main line of communication between the University’s Office of Sustainability and the student body. - Educated UNCW students and the campus community on how to work together to pursue sustainable, personal, and institutional policies while focusing on economic vitality, social equity, and environmental stewardship.- Hosted educational programs, tabled to promote various initiatives, ran social media campaigns, and gave presentations to groups on sustainability-related topics.- Led the initiative to install LED lights in Wagoner Dining Hall in 2021 by creating a presentation, including research on return-on-investment statistics and the environmental benefits of the transition, for the Chief Sustainability Officer, Kat Pohlman, to present to university administration. - Collaborated with university officials to collect data, submit applications, and achieve the Bee Campus accolade, personally signed by the Chancellor.- Worked collaboratively with Campus Dining stakeholders on obtaining the Fair-Trade Campus certification.- Aided in the organization and operation of the Sustainability Peer Educator Team by supervising and guiding between four and seven other Peer Educators, leading meetings, taking meeting notes, leading training each semester, and assisting where needed.
