As a Sub-Branch of RSL Victoria, the Flemington Kensington RSL strives to meet the RSL objectives of providing support and welfare to veterans and their families, and providing services and facilities for veterans and their communities. The Flemington Kensington RSL, established in 1932, offers a small volunteer-run venue and committee, to support the aim of the RSL in the local community. As a member of the volunteer committee, I assisted in the daily operations of the club as well as any events hosted or run through the Sub-Branch.

The Oakleigh Bowling Club is a community-based bowling club, established in 1906. The OBC hosts a range of regular community and private events, and is proudly the home of the Hellenic Bowls Club of Victoria and the Monash University Lawn Bowls Club.
