I assist in the daily operations for developing and managing the physician/provider network, which includes recruiting, servicing, and training physicians and providers. My specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: providing training in policies and administrative duties of Provider Relations Associates: developing and maintaining effective physician and physician group recruitment and retention programs; initiating and maintaining effective communication channels with contracted providers to ensure understanding of policies and procedures; participate in work groups to develop processes to improve provider satisfaction. I maintain positive relationships between the health plan, physicians, providers, and practice managers. I have 17+ years of experience in provider services/relation and/or contracting/network development. I have strong verbal and written communication skills, in addition to strong analytical and problem solving skills. I have immense knowledge of managed care (network design, products, customer service, provider communities, etc.) I supervise team performance ("what" and the "how"), reward and recognize performance accomplishments, council and manage performance issues.

As the Provider Relations Assistant I maintained the physician, ancillary and facility network. I worked directly with the managed care staff from various Health Systems to ensure that the data we had was correct.
