I am currently seeking a position as a Reading Specialist and or coach. I have a strong foundational knowledge of the reading and writing process. I use Jan Richardson plans and have been recorded teaching small groups as a model for other teachers. I use Promethean lessons and blended learning to meet the demands of the 21st century classroom. I have been asked to be a literacy ambassador for staff development on the county level in August on creating a culture of literacy, and asked to present on how to organize, launch, and maintain literacy stations. I understand and use the SIOP lesson framework and have training in ESL. I recently earned my Masters in Reading and Culture from Longwood University. I have modeled lessons for classroom teachers in Richmond City, as well as schools in Chesterfield County. I have mentored and supported teachers and preservice teachers from Virginia State, University of Richmond, and Virginia Commonwealth University as Clinical Faculty.
