Loqui (pronounced ‘loh-kwee’) is a Latin word meaning “to speak”. Bernadette has more than 20 years’ experience working in hospital, aged care and community settings She has more than 13 years’ experience servicing residential aged care facilities. Loqui is a National Speech Pathology Aged Care Provider servicing residents in residential aged care facilties in and adults in the community. Bernadette is highly experienced in the areas of aged care, head and neck cancer, voice, degenerative neurological disorders, and spinal and tracheostomy management. She has extensive experience and a special interest in complex dysphagia management and palliative care. She is a clinical educator and clinical researcher at the University of Queensland, Australian Catholic University and Griffith University and is a certified practitioner of the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) technique for the treatment of people with Parkinson’s disease. Bernadette has recently provided input into Speech Pathology Australia’s submission to Palliative Care Australia for the review of the Palliative Care Standards.
