The app has won numerous national and international awards. It has been a platform for iterations in a bid to find a workable revenue model. Starting with a simple feedback functionality, we have added and tested beta versions of PSV booking, rating, follow, manifest, matatu routes and social functionality. - Led Operating System development for the SupaBRCK. SupaBRCK runs a custom version of the x86_64 Openwrt OS. Optimized hardware and software for access by a high number of WiFi clients. Also developed resilient 3g connectivity. - Troubleshooting kernel issues (efficiecy, performance, energy consumption) on the board required a mastery of WiFi technology and Linux kernel and device driver debugging skills. My work specifically shifted design from single core Intel E3815 to dual core E3825, Intel WiFi to Atheros QCA range of WiFi chips, among other fundamental changes that reduced energy consumption as it increased throughput.- Designed and built firmware for early iterations of the SupaBRCK board. The firmware was built for MSP430 microcontroller. Implemented basic functionality such as LEDs, power buttons, as well as esoteric features such as solar power charging. Worked closely with the hardware team to troubleshoot and fix hardware bugs.- Participated in SupaBRCK CE Certification and Marking by a lab in Taiwan- Supported engineers working on the captive portal for BRCK's Moja Platform and mentored engineers in my department.- Innovated the system that increased the speed of manufacturing and deployment of the SupaBRCKs by more than 10 times.

Teaching computer literacy to teenage and early adult girls. Taught C and LinuxMost of the girls had zero prior experience with computers, and, initial classes had students from poor or disadvantaged neighborhoods. Created a unique curriculum that enabled the students to benefit from other computer courses - Programming and Graphic design - run by Akirachix.Initial few years was done mostly on voluntary basis.

In October, 2008, Cellulant was awarded the best-run mid-sized company in Kenya by a consortium of media and auditors. At my departure, Cellulant had operations in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana,Zambia and Botswana; 4 more countries than at my entry.1. Designed and implemented a web-based highly available, load-balanced cluster architecture that runs all of Cellulant’s VAS services. Was promoted to oversee implementation and support of the infrastructure across the continent.2. Oversaw the expansion from 5 to 45 servers and Cisco switches and routers. Researched, acquired, installed and configured the latest HP & Dell servers (2950, 1950), Netscreen (5GT) routers & Cisco (3560) switches. Led initiatives in start-up operations in Ghana and Zambia3. Led an operations team of 5 engineers and 3 interns. Assigned duties, conducted hiring, developed performance metrics, supervised and evaluated staff4. Participated in production of Asianux 2.0 which was released in August 2005. Cooperated with Chinese (Redflag Linux) and Korean (Haansoft) engineers to develop and release the operating system.Selected Contributions:1. Level 3 Linux Technical Support to clients.
