Peacebuilding and mental health - addressing drivers of conflict in Uganda

-Edited 15 research reports, on conflict and peacebuilding;-Investigated governance in fisheries, social accountability in 2 World Bank- and African development Bank-funded projects, urban violence and its impact on business, sexual and gender-based violence in cross-border trade, development and conflict trends in post-disarmament Karamoja;-Wrote quarterly country reports and newsletter articles on peace activities, achievements and impact;-Facilitated 14 workshops and 6 trainings for 80 conflict monitors;-Led advocacy and influenced 2 national policies and 5 district bye-laws;-Led civil society work with youth, cultural, religious, political leaders and established the Rwenzori Youth Peacebuilding Agenda 2015-2018; -Represented International Alert at topical CSO forums pertaining to governance, human rights, gender relations and youth affairs;-Mentored 6 interns.

-Constantly liaised with officials at the ministries of education local government on activities and achievements of the organisation;-Led campaigns to publicise PEAS schools aimed at widening access to secondary education in Uganda to ensure children claimed their right to education - through radio campaigns and village meetings with community leaders and members;-Represented organisation at events such as fairs and exhibitions;-Harmonised work relations with officials in 5 districts of operation;-Initiated the Citizenship Curriculum for the PEAS schools under the Directorate of Educational Excellence;-Explored new areas for expansion in the districts of Hoima and Masindi

-Taught English, French and Spanish across the age and level range (preschool, primary, secondary and higher education) - in Spain, United Kingdom and Uganda;-Managed a didactic team of eleven people;-Recruited and inducted teachers and teaching assistants;-Analysed student progress and wrote monthly reports;-Attend termly professional development sessions, including training on teaching techniques and safeguarding.
