    I transferred to QA in March of 2012, from the Helpdesk position which I was doing for the last 3 years.When assigned to support a project as an individual contributor (QA analyst) you will ensure the tasks completed within the time frames established by the project team. This would also apply to any non-project related assignments that you may be asked to support during the year. During the execution of projects or assignments, you will ensure that all departmental processes, templates, techniques, standards, and tools are utilized and followed.Here are some of the activities that I perform myself on a daily basis:• Obtain and Review Project related documentation and where available attend training sessions in order to become familiar with the parameters of the project and the systems that will be used to support the initiative. • Participate in and contribute to the development of High Level QA project documentation such as formal estimate and Tactical Test Plans where possible.• Develop Detailed Test cases in Quality Center which support the Test Strategy defined in the Tactical Test Plan. • Execute Test Cases in Quality Center and update results with appropriate updates and supporting test materials per department guidelines• Document and manage all defects using the appropriate defect management tool and departmental defect management standards.• Where Serious Issues are encountered communicate those issues as soon as possible to you Project Team Lead in order for them to be able to take appropriate action or make appropriate decisions to resolve those issues.• Communicate your status and progress to your Team lead on a regular basis and where Contribute asked to the generation of QA progress reports such as a Test Case Summary report or Defect Status report. • Attend Project Level Meetings and QA project team meetings.Build relationships outside of QA, work with developers BSA and Project Managers.
