Laura division has significant bush-land, extreme 4WD tracks throughout the division including Maytown tracks. The residents of Laura Division can be some 200+ kilometers from QPS / QFRS / QAS and support services. Laura town ship consists of approximately eighty Aboriginal indigenous persons with family ties throughout the Cape region.
