A lifelong career in shipping began after college by spending six months aboard a Greek-owned ship, MV Garbis OBO (Embiricos Shipping Agencies London), after which I spent a year in Germany working with Christian Fl Ahrenkiel GMBH Hamburg. I relocated to New York and became a shipbroker specializing in grain cargo. Additional experience over the years enabled a proficiency within the industry that I continue to enjoy today.I joined my family’s shipping business in London and set up freight trading and later a grain parcel service from South America. A consistent core competency is the innate ability to improve upon processes and systems. I have a penchant for improving an existing model to make it vastly more profitable. A significant period of my employment involved the reengineering of the parceling business by employing ships with modified designs. Suggesting a modified ship design to the shipyard to build a new and improved ship that could pass through the Panama Canal with increased payload required ingenuity, persistence, and tenacity. In 2002, I launched Azure do Brasil Agenciamentos Maritimos Ltda Rio De Janeiro to serve Brazilian grain shippers. Over the next 13 years, I developed further the parcel service in Brazil representing Anglo-Swiss and its clients.
