Led and managed all local and international procurements at APM Terminals Ghana Ltd with 100 plus vendors involving an annual spend of over 5 million US Dollars. Led the take cost initiative of the entity with average annual savings of 50,000 US Dollars from 2016 to date. Worked closely with Maersk Group procurement teams in India and Senegal to improve value, reduce business cost and implement programmes in the areas of procurement transformation, responsible and ethical procurement, contract management optimization strategies and the stronger project in Ghana. Managed vendor and stakeholder contracts in line with Maersk Group global framework agreements. Drastically reduced cost of stock holdings and stock shortages by ensuring stores are optimally stocked. Assisted the HSSE office in the actualisation of its safety policies and programmes. Managed database of existing and potential vendors whilst identifying new supply markets. Continues engagement and re-negotiation of existing contracts with vendors which increased value for money for procured inputs. Managed the claims and insurance processes of the business and mitigated all risks involved in the operations of the business. Worked closely with Maersk group risk and insurance team based in the United States and got local insurance covers for every aspect of the business operation. Undertook bi-annual vendor engagements and obtained feedback for improving the relationship of the business and its vendors. This improved supplier’s capacity to offer inputs of value.  Led multi-functional teams who delivered specific procurement projects on time and within budget.

Managed the export terminal which had over 40 key customers delivering a throughput of 2000 containers monthly equivalent in revenue to 150,000 US Dollars. Ensured staff safety before, during and after operational hours by building their capacity on best practices. Worked with trucking department and ensured that resources are available to truck movement of containers to port to meet vessel opening window. Reduced overall cost of operating by 10,000 USD through in-house planning and consolidating containers per customers and per vessel. Prepared and forwarded daily gate - ins and gate- outs movement to management. Prepared and forwarded weekly performance reports (costs against revenue) to management. Offered customer feedback to clients on the movement of their containers in a timely manner. Proactively informed clients in instances in which there are short shipments of their containers and roll overs on to next available vessels upon advice. Prepared weekly safety walk about reports and updated relevant safety reporting systems such as GIZMO, FATAL5 and CMO. Ensured that the gate in and gate out process are duly followed at the export terminal.

Worked closely with the depot team and operations team which met all the trucking needs? Worked with third party trucking companies to plan and schedule fleets. Managed shunting business at Meridian Port Services with revenue inflow of over 100,000 US dollars monthly. Resolved all challenges at load site and offloading points by proactively monitoring driver performance during shift hours and resolving emerging issues in the process. Successfully managed all key clients of the trucking department and ensured all requests are met Ensured all breakdowns are reported to the workshop department and follow ups done to ensure truck downtime is kept to the very minimal Conducted fuel analysis reporting for the fleet against trips made and investigated deviations

Manage waybills of drivers and tallied waybills accurately of trips made and used as basis to pay driver’s trip allowances. Prepared general daily reports on truck and driver performance and advice department head for actions to be taken. Updated the department’s white board on the daily work schedules of fleet.
