Born in Belgium, I received a bilingual upbringing. French was the language spoken at home, while I received an education in Dutch. This dominant cultural influence in my life was reinforced thanks to a concentrated study of classical and modern languages from ages twelve through eighteen.From the age of six, my parents placed a strong emphasis on cultural travel. A trip to Florence at the age of eight became the earliest artistic impression in my mind. Throughout middle and high school this artistic interest grew ever stronger. I frequently traveled to view exhibitions within a few hours of Brussels.In the summer of 1994 I enrolled in the Art History program at the Catholic University of Leuven. After the first two years of general overview courses and methodology I majored in Modern and Contemporary Fine Arts. For my junior year abroad I enrolled at the Free University of Berlin and I completed my Masters on the subject of blue monochrome art in the spring of 1998.I started working for Richard Reed Armstrong Fine Art in the fall of 1998, at first as an assistant, then as a director. At the gallery I have focused most of my energy on a systematic organization of information on 19th and 20th century printmakers. I edited the catalogue raisonné of prints for François Houtin, a contemporary Parisian artist, published in 2002.In July of 2006 I took over the gallery, which has been renamed Armstrong Fine Art. The focus of the gallery remains unchanged. We present prints and a few drawings by 19th and early 20th century French artists, as well as the work of a select group of contemporary representational artists.Specialties: I take great pride in never forgetting an image. My clients know that when I look for objects for them, very little escapes my attention in finding the best object, quickly and at a fair market value.
