I founded InterQuery in 1998 as an Internet company specializing in meta search and comparative shopping. The company was a pioneer in the Software as a Service (SaaS) model. The first product was released in less than 6 months. The first customers, Careerbuilder and Careershop, were signed up in the Spring of 1999. In the subsequent years, my team and I raised $6 million in venture capital. We made "Deal of the Week" in the Washington Post in Dec. 2000.

I have been advising technology startups for Venture Mentors since 1999. I volunteered with MSF after my Exec. MBA graduation, and spent 7 months in Colombo, Sri Lanka as the HR and Finance manager of the mission. During my mission I spent a few weeks visiting MSF project sites in the civil war zones and refugee camps. Not many experiences in life can show you so much human suffering at very close range, and that gives you a very different perspective on life. As an early investor and co-founder at MNS, I was responsible for Marketing/Sales and Finance. The company grew from $300,000 in revenue when I joined to $1.7 million, with 6,000 customers, in 16 months. It was acquired by Verio in 1997.

Senior Product for the "AgentWorks" product line, responsible for product strategy and sales support. Established partnerships with IBM and other systems management vendors. Closed $1.8 million in system integration and partnership deals.

Defined the product strategy and engaged strategic partners to support it. Achievements included $1.8 million in deals over 2 years.

Founded the North American division of French system integrator Marben SA, specializing in communication protocols (OSI stack). Customers included IBM, Stratus, Unisys, Intel, and many others.

Started as a software engineer developing assembly language programs (8-bit processors!), and rapidly moved up the management chain to become deputy director of Marben's Networking Software department. Was a pioneer in UNIX and C, and received the very first Unix computer made in France.
