Bernard has had extensive experience in venture capital, investment banking and telecommunications strategy across sub-Saharan Africa. He is an Investor at Norrsken22, covering West Africa. Norrsken22 is an African tech growth fund providing capital and strategic value to founders. Prior to Norrsken22, Bernard was Head of Investments at Acuity Venture Partners, an Africa focused investor in early stage tech companies. Bernard led Acuity’s investment in over two dozen African tech businesses across FinTech, Market Enablement and Soft Infrastructure verticals. Before this, Bernard was a Senior Associate at I-DEV International in Kenya, helping companies across East Africa scale by helping them raise growth finance and supporting them with strategy and go-to-market blueprints. Bernard has experience in driving strategy formulation and execution in the telecoms space: as Vodafone’s Senior Strategy Specialist, he helped establish the firm’s 2020 Long-Range Plan and ‘WIN’ strategy. Bernard was involved in sourcing and origination efforts for blue-chip clients across a number of sectors, raising a combination of equity and quasi-equity during his time at IC Securities in Ghana.Bernard holds a B.Sc. in Management Information Systems, Cum Laude, from Ashesi University where he was a recipient of the President’s Scholarship, Leadership and Citizenship award.
