Bernardo joined Ombú Capital in February 2021. Prior to this and from 2015, Bernardo was Director at StormHarbour Securities with origination, structuring and placement responsibilities for large RE mandates from corporates. In addition and over the last 20 years, Bernardo has worked on the development, re-development and analysis of large Real Estate projects and assets, across different uses ranging in value up to EUR500M. From 2010, he occupied senior key positions on the coordination of large development schemes in Asia and West Africa, and several advisory roles for Private Equity Real Estate funds in Portugal and Spain. Bernardo held client solutions and project coordination responsibilities at Aguirre Newman, and he was Director at Grupo Visabeira, with a focus on asset management and expansion in Portugal and Mozambique. Before, Bernardo spent 8 years with Sonae Sierra, where he held design management and stakeholders’ coordination roles on the development and re-development of large shopping centre projects, across different stages and several countries in Europe. He began his career at the City Council of Lisbon as an architect. Bernardo holds a Master in Architecture and Urban Planning from the College of Architecture (FAUTL), University of Lisbon and an Executive M.B.A. from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
