First six months as a trainee CRA. Main tasks in clinical trials and observational studies included on-site and remote monitoring, submission of authorization requests and substantial amendments to authorities and clinical sites, site initiation visits and recruitment follow-up, coordination, data entry and medical writing.

This Unit is responsible for the authorisation and oversight of clinical trials in Portugal, having a lot of technical expertise. The internship was focused on management and validation of clinical trials’ procedures and documents, such as notifications, conclusions, clinical trial reports, substantial amendments and authorisation requests. In addition to the regulatory training (Law no. 21/2014 in its current wording, Guideline ICH E6, Directive 2001/20/EC, Guidance CT1), I had some practice with RNEC and EudraCT.

With the aim of promoting student development, BEST Aveiro organizes seasonal courses annually to complement students’ technical knowledge in specific topics. In addition to a quality academic component, there are activities of socio-cultural nature that allow the introduction of international students to Portuguese culture and traditions. In 2017, BEST Aveiro organized an autumn course entitled “Internet of Things – Anything, Anywhere, Anytime!” between September 1st to September 9th.As FundRaising Responsible, I led a team with the objective of establishing partnerships with companies, which helped me to develop skills such as strategic planning, management and monitoring of teams, sense of responsibility and teamwork.

BEST Aveiro is one of the 95 local groups of BEST - Board of European Students of Technology. BEST is an european students organisation in the fields of Science, Engineering and Technology, represented in 33 countries, which has around 3600 members and reaches more than 1 million students.
