I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Instituto Português de Oncologia do Porto Francisco Gentil (IPO-Porto), specialising in hereditary prostate cancer. With a Bachelor's in Molecular Biology from the University of Manchester (2002) and a Ph.D. from the University of Porto, ICBAS (2011), I have cultivated a deep expertise in cancer biology, particularly in chromosomal instability, aneuploidy, and drug resistance.My research career includes significant tenures as a Junior Researcher at i3S (2016-2021) and as a Research Associate at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine (2011-2016). I have authored 20 peer-reviewed articles, including 9 as the first author, and have been cited over 905 times (h-index: 15). My mentoring experience spans across 16 students at various academic levels, leading to 17 co-authored publications. I am currently supervising 1 PhD, 3 Master's and 2 undergraduate theses. I am highly skilled in advanced microscopy (widefield and confocal), phenotypic characterization, gene editing (siRNA, CRISPR-Cas9), and both drosophila and human cell culture.
