Since 1978, Bernard Pepin (B. Arch.), founder of Atmosphere Design, has been interested in the influence that color has on human perception and behaviour in relation to the user’s state of mind and the nature of an activity.He is a member of the “Centre Français de la Couleur” (CFC) and the “Fédération Française de la Couleur” (FFC), affiliated to AIC, Accredited member of the International Association for Color Consultants IACC/NA; Since the beginning, his main research interest is about function supportive color schemes for all human activity with a focus on counter productive colors associated with those activities. From 1995 to the present, Mr. Pepin has been invited to speak about color at conferences locally, nationally as well as internationally for various industries, hospitals, universities and colleges including associations such as the Illuminating Engineer Society. October 2012, He was appointed to speak for SODEXO annual meeting, in Madrid in front of the 300 top managers, with 30 countries represented. Besides occasional media presence for color science promotion, since 2006 Mr. Pepin has been directing seminars in Montreal and Quebec City, titled “L’impact de la couleur sur l’humain”, as part of a programme of seminars presented by CONTECH. Since its inception in 1978, Atmosphere Design has been developing therapeutically dynamic and comforting environments centred on the user’s state of mind and well-being.While most of Atmosphere Design realisations are built in Canada, mostly in Quebec, other major industrial projects for multinational corporations are located abroad like Juarez, Mexico or Rovaniemi, Finland.With published and awarded projects for Retail design, Hospitality, Healthcare, Corporate or Commercial, Atmosphere Design proved that timeless design with a focus on the human factors does have it’s place among trendy or fashion inclinations.
