HEAD OF COMMUNICATION FOR SOUTH ASIAI managed a team of over 20 employees (between Mumbai and Chennai) with a 2 million Euro budget. During my posting I initiated and ran an innovative communications program. which included practical business video tutorials, mini-documentaries and video guides targeted at SMEs. I also created and managed all the social media accounts and launched the portal italiaindia.com.Organization of the official State visit of then Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi in West Bengal with a delegation of over 200 Italian companies. As a result Italian and Indian governments signed four MoUs, several dozen private sector contracts were signed and vocational training centers for leather and woodworking machinery were established.I was in charge of managing the Italian pavilions at the most important trade shows in India and curated most of the special exhibitions and shows, such as Italian Design Week, Italian fashion week and Vinitaly in India. As part of this work I was responsible for managing calls for proposals and floating tenders for contracts worth tens to hundred of thousands of Euros.

Set up a centralized Communications and Advertising Bureau (CAB) for North America, managing a budget of around 6 million Euros. I negotiated framework agreements with major US media groups (Conde Nast, Hearst, McGraw Hill, Dow Jones) and coordinated the media plans of the six US ITA offices. I created advertising and advertorial campaigns for Italian food, wine, Eyewear, Investments & tiles.

I served under ambassador Sergio Vento as the trade and liaison officer with the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, USAID, DoC and the UN Oil for Food program. I was the Italian business representative for the Iraq reconstruction program and advised Italian ministers and top management of the Ministry of Industry & Trade on the reconstruction business and related financial issues.

eMarket Services was the most significant international project promoting e-Business for SMEs and became the official EU portal for information on e-marketplaces. As the national manager for Italy, I carried out the following:- Organized the Third European Conference on eMarketplaces, in Milan (March 2003), attended by over 200 companies and representatives of top global marketplaces, including Covisint and Alibaba- created a program that successfully brought 50 Italian SMEs onto the relevant sectoral e-marketplaces- launched the portal www.emarketservices.it and ran monthly newsletter- published half a dozen industry case studies on Italian SMEs successfully using e-markets (see publications)AWARDS The Enterprise Europe Network selected eMarket Services Italia as the Best European Practice for Innovative tools for SMEs in 2003, and I presented our work to the European Commission on May 27, 2003 (as part of the European e-Business Support Network for SMEs, an eEurope 2005 action)

ITALTRADE.COM PORTALManaged a team of 5 people working to re-launch the Italian multilingual portal, Italtrade.com. Activities involved: new content development, the introduction of 6 new sections (Business Leaders, Italian Clusters, Focus On, Press Room, Newsletter, local events); restyling and relaunch of the Made in Italy Business Directory; I supervised and developed a new content management system; agreement with Google to promote a set of 3000 relevant keywords to drive traffic to the "Made in Italy" brand.

I managed most of the activities related to the start-up of a new company composed of 5 people (3 shareholders and 3 employees). Realization of the business pian; dealing with the banks tor funding and seed capital; handling of all the legal matters; investment decisions on equipment, location. incorporation of the Prewell eSolutions lnc. in Canada (Vancouver) and setting up of local partnerships: translators, graphic designers, Chinese html developers, answering service providers.
