I was 12 years old when I started collecting motorcycles, excitedly customizing each one by myself. By 18, I was assembling jeeps before moving on to driving my first Ferrari at 21. My interest in precision engineering determined me to study horology in Paris, France.At a very young age, I was obliged to take on the responsibilities of my parent's jewelry and watchmaking company. Here, I was immersed in the intricate art of high-end watchmaking. While I considered myself privileged to be working with the leading lights in the industry, soon I was seeking independence. I decided to create my first B.R.M Chronographes, molding the brand with my innate passion for motorsports and karting. Everything in the shape of the B.R.M Chronographes piece is reminiscent of car racing traditions and iconography: the straps (chequered flags, seatbelt, tires); cases (wheel rims, nuts and bolts, engine); dials (wheel, dashboard, race car numbers); hands ( an open design hearkening to the spokes of steering wheels of yesteryear); and even the chronograph pushbuttons ( which some eagle-eyed clients have likened to pistons). Our shared journey is not easy, but thanks to my extended passionate family: my BRM-Bernard Richards Manufacture team, my loyal clients, partners, distributors and agents, we have faced and surmounted crises. An in spite of our "David" French brand pitted against Swiss “Goliaths”, we have made our own indelible mark on the watchmaking world. In this exacting world of luxury, details make the difference. We are also mindful that evolution breeds excitement, and that is what BRM is all about.
