I am interested in how people can be motivated to imagine and create sustainable futures. While insisting on systemic global thinking, I make scientific knowledge useful for ideating concrete transformative action. My visiting professorship at the Film University Babelsberg focuses on the role of digital spaces and audio-visual media in inventing and imagining concrete images of the future for local actors in transformation processes. At the Climate Media Factory I research, design and implement decision support and audio-visual climate change communication formats.I lead work on scientific model architecture, co-creation, knowledge exploration media and educational experience design. I contributed to award-winning theatre productions and wrote and directed many animated short films, several of which won awards at international festivals. I am deeply grateful that I had the opportunity to spend ten years studying physics, mathematics, political theory, literature, philosophy and film before that.
