I am currently the owner of Science&Management Consulting and a Visiting Scientist at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (Heidelberg, Germany), and appointed as Affiliate Research Scientist at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI, Worcester, Massachusetts).Prior to founding Science&Management Consulting, a Massachusetts based operation that serves public and private institutions in Europe and the US, I held various leadership and management positions in the Biotech and Pharmaceutical Industry, most recently as CSO with ELARA Pharmaceuticals GmbH, previously as Director Medicinal Chemistry with Abbott Laboratories, and also with BASF Pharma. There I have launched several drug candidates into clinical development stages.As a graduate from the University of Bonn, I earned my Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Ruhr University of Bochum (Germany). I have coauthored more than 50 patents and scientific papers, revealing inventive contributions to Dermatology, Oncology and Immunology.
