About Bernd Thomas Schuller

By training I'm a physicist, and have a Ph.D. in physics from RWTH Aachen (Germany). Since 2002, I work at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH), in a number of research projects. My main expertise is in distributed systems and federated computing, designing and developing software solutions in the Java and Python programming languages.Research interests include: high-performance computing, distributed and federated systems, web services, data management, workflow systems, security, dynamic languages like Python and Groovy, and more. I am one of the lead developers of the UNICORE middleware.Specialties: software development, software architecture, distributed systems, federated computing, Java, web services, scalable server architectures, workflow systems, managing small to medium scale software projects, Linux, architecting & designing software solutions for scientific users.
