About Bernhard Klinger
A highly specialist technical actuary with a wealth of life & health insurance experience in financial and regulatory reporting, risk management and financial model development, including implementation of Solvency II, IFRS 17, economic capital, embedded value and various other finance transformation projects. As Head of Actuarial Development at Bupa I was the actuarial business lead for all Group Finance transformation initiatives to automate existing processes and respond to regulatory change: Implementation of Enterprise Performance Management software (Tagetik CPM) for IFRS consolidation & Solvency II reporting, IFRS 17 implementation and development of the Actuarial Function data store. Prior to my current role, I lead the implementation of financial models and reporting processes to enable Bupa to achieve Solvency II compliance and established a new Group Actuarial team from ground-up.During my 20-year career I have lead and contributed towards various finance and risk management initiatives including M&A transaction risk assessments, risk appetite and economic capital implementation, analysis of earnings and experience analysis development, and business partnering supporting the launch of new protection and savings products.
