My name is Bernice Ocran Dodoo, a young enthusiastic and passionate girl. In 2020, I graduated with first-class honours with a Bachelor of Education (Social Sciences) degree majoring in Geography and a minor in Economics from the University of Cape Coast, the same university where I'm reading my Master's degree in Measurement and Evaluation.Growing up, I envisioned a world where Girls and Young Women have access to leadership opportunities and decision-making spaces. I took the bold step of leading and am the immediate past General Secretary of the Graduate Students' Association of Ghana- UCC chapter. I am a young advocate in the She Leads programme which seeks to empower GYWs for leadership. I volunteer as the Alumni president of the WOMEN ASPIRE NETWORK which supports the overall social and economic well-being of young students, especially females in my region. We engage in radio advocacy and community sensitization on positive gender norms. I am the Pan-African representative of Ghana on the Sheleads advisory board. In March 2022, I represented all GYWs in my country at the first-ever AfricaCSW66 in Nairobi, Kenya, where I published my article. In June 2022, I was awarded the loudest GYW on Twitter for the She leads programme and a writer in the #Ispeak4Myself Vol 1. I have been a panelist for numerous regional space programmes on positive gender norms and ending Gender-based violence across Africa. I am also a research intern on the TSIC, Equal Measures 2030 and She leads partnership research on " how improved data measurement and data collection enhances leadership and participation of girls and young women".Currently, I am leading the Alumni of Women Aspire Network to implement a project on leadership through the setting up of leading clubs in some SHS in the Central Region. I see education and leadership as powerful tools for empowering girls and young women.When she Leads, we Gain!
