I am a goal-driven individual who is willing to work hard to reach her goals. My interest in education started as a childhood hobby that I had of teaching Mathematics. Within the three years in my service as a teacher, the realization of the lack of proper and effective teacher development created the interest in training. I developed an interest in teacher training that saw me leave the classroom to go train in-service high school teachers in Mathematics and Physical Science. The training was my main deliverable as a Project Coordinator but included other tasks such as enhancing learner education through the morning, afternoon and Saturday clinics. I then realized that most of the learner challenges arise from the lack of foundation in Mathematical concepts. Hence I found myself managing a program that entails training education degree students to teach Mathematics in afterschool sessions. This role incorporated the coordination of stakeholder relations and overseeing a team of between 10 to 14 coaches per year. I was therefore assisting in producing high-quality teachers with good content and at the same time giving the foundation in Mathematical concepts to the learners in the learning program. As a lifelong learner, my interests are wide and I am always willing to learn new things about different industries. Skills development may be rooted in education as it entails imparting of education in the form of skills, be it soft or otherwise. However, due to the vast variety in industry, skills development is by no means limited to education. The experience of coordinating education programs has contributed in improving my administrative and event management skills. In the future, I plan to start a Training and Development consulting company which will be catering to different industries. I am therefore open to embarking on different challenging paths that will enhance my own skills. I am, professionally and at heart, a teacher. As such, I believe in creating a conducive environment for learning and teaching processes to take place. I have good presentation, verbal and written communication skills. I have been in the workforce for 11 years, 3 years in the public space and 8 in the NGOs sector.
