I worked for the Iditarod Area School District August 2007 to May 2010. Over the past three years at Innoko River School in Shageluk, my assignment had been teaching in a multi-age classroom environment in grades 4-8 my first year, and K-6 my second year. My responsibilities as a teacher were not only to insure that students developed a broad understanding of subject material through technology integration, but also to instill in my students the desire to become "Life Long" learners through high expectations and "Character Education." I also served as the site administrator during those three years. Site administrator duties involved overseeing the day-to-day operations of my campus, community relations, employee supervision, monthly paperwork, as well as payroll, monthly ADA audit reports. The Innoko River School staff also received merit pay for overall improvement in SBA test scores during my first year, and met AYP during my second and third year as Principal/Teacher. Our success was directly related to establishing high expectations for staff and students alike as well as bridging the gap between school and community.

I have taught self-contained as well as content specific subjects. My responsibilities as a teacher were not only to insure that students developed a broad understanding of subject material through technology integration, but also to instill in my students the desire to become "Life Long" learners through high expectations and "Character Education."As Director of Operations and Support my duties involved the management of the following areas: Front Office Staff, Site-based supervisors for our cafeteria, custodial department, and transportation. • San Benito Isd
    Teacher
San Benito Isd Aug 1997 - May 2000
As a primary teacher with the San Benito school district my responsibilities included but were not limited to planning and teaching reading, math, spelling, grammar, handwriting as well as science, social studies and character education. Over the three years I was with the district, I taught kindergarten and second grade students. My most rewarding accomplishment was being able to work with kindergarten students throughout the year and witnessing first hand their hunger for knowledge and the success that came at the end of the year with all students leaving being able to read and comprehend what they had read. I felt that I was able to accomplish this goal due to my daring as a first year teacher. By daring, I had purchased a short "Kinder" novel with cassette tape that we used as a whole group during reading. My love of reading spilled over to my students, and as a result they became avid readers from that point on which carried over from year to year when I once again had my same class as a second grade teacher.Other achievements or responsibilities involved: • Serving as "Team Leader" for second grade• Being part of the technology development team • Took part in a taping for TStar (The Texas Schools Telecommunications Access Resource), which spotlighted my use of technology in the classroom
